Summary:Postoperative exacerbation of interstitial pneumonia in patients with interstitial lung disease and lung cancer has emerged as a serious problem. Therefore, we need to determine the risk factors for the development of postoperative exacerbation of interstitial pneumonia in this population. There are several subtypes of interstitial lung disease, which may lead to confusion about the treatment of patients with interstitial lung disease and lung cancer. Among the idiopathic forms of interstitial lung disease, we focused on idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and reviewed the surgical treatments used for patients with IPF and lung cancer.
