Summary: | Studies on the deformation behavior for Al-Mg alloys of two different grain sizes (16 and 26 microns) were carried out under uniaxial and biaxial conditions at ambient and high temperatures. Parameters such as strain- hardening exponent (n), strain-rate sensitivity (m), and elongation to failure were measured and these parameters correlated well with limiting dome height and limit strain obtained under biaxial straining. Forming limit curves at 623 and 673 K for alloy A (16-micron grain size) and at 573 K for alloy B (26-micron grain size) were evaluated. The limit strains for alloy A at 623 and 673 K rose by two, to two and a half times compared to those obtained at room temperature. Similarly, for alloy B at 573 K, it rose by a factor of two.
