Summary: | Previously abstracted from original as item 9312-31-4742. Changes in the structure and texture of a pseudo-alpha titanium alloy were investigated as a function of temperature and deformation schedule during rolling. It is shown that deformation in the upper part of the alpha + beta region, which leads to dynamic recrystallization, results in the formation of a multicomponent texture and a controlled uniform structure, irrespective of the rolling schedule. This provides for isotropic mechanical properties and high fracture toughness during low-cycle fatigue testing in a corrosive medium. |
