Summary:In the investigations of mechanical properties of the 30KhGSA steel, lasers were used to heat-treat surfaces of (structural) steels to strengthen frictional assemblies of machines. It is found to enhance the wear resistance of the surface. Creation of a hard surface layer after the action of the laser affected not only the tribological but also the mechanical properties of structural materials.
