An In Situ Investigation Into Structural Ordering on Silver Surfaces During the Underpotential Deposition of Lead Monolayers Using X-Ray Absorption Spectroscopy Under Conditions of Total External Reflection

The underpotential deposition of a lead monolayer at --0.525V vs. S.C.E. onto a silver polycrystalline thin film in an electrolyte solution of 0.5M sodium acetate, 5 mM lead acetate and 0.01M acetic acid at 20 deg C has been examined in situ using reflectivity EXAFS together with a specially designe...

Description
Summary:The underpotential deposition of a lead monolayer at --0.525V vs. S.C.E. onto a silver polycrystalline thin film in an electrolyte solution of 0.5M sodium acetate, 5 mM lead acetate and 0.01M acetic acid at 20 deg C has been examined in situ using reflectivity EXAFS together with a specially designed electrochemical cell. The data reveal the existence of an Ag--Pb bond length of 2.58 A.
