Summary: | The oxidation of Ni-based alloys leads to multiphase oxide scales with an inhomogeneous microstructure. By introducing an integrating method for EPMA, it was possible to find a common basis with GDOS depth profiles for the chemical characterization of such layers. At first, it was necessary to quantify the GDOS intensity profiles; thus, the comparison of relative mass fractions supplied by both methods was successful. Generally, a substantial agreement also was found with quantitative SNMS profiles. |
