Summary: | High-T sub(c) superconductors of the form Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O, with the 2223 phase as the main phase, were fabricated by a sol-gel method from an aqueous solution of metal acetates containing excess acetic acid with tartaric acid and glycol additions. Their zero resistance temperature was 105 K and T sub(c) (onset) was above 120 K. These samples exhibited excellent homogeneity and sinterability at relatively low firing temperature. Thermal analysis, infrared spectra and x-ray diffraction patterns revealed the mechanisms of decomposition of the organic compounds and crystallization of various phases. |
