Description
Summary:At the initial stage of recrystallization of cold-rolled copper we have observed that the orientation distribution (ODF) of the small recrystallized grains is definitely different from the ODF of the group of large recrystallized grains. Also, the misorientation distributions (MODF) between the recrystallized grains and the surrounding deformed matrix were quite different for the two groups. These statistical results indicate that certain nuclei have boundaries of high mobility and are thus capable of oriented growth. Here we will report on some morphological observations of the 'small' and the 'large' recrystallized grains. These details might be of some importance for the development of the texture in the course of primary recrystallization. The example given here shows that at least two different populations of recrystallized regions exist which in general, compete with each other in the course of primary recrystallization.
