Description
Summary:A polarization study of corrosion resistance of mild steel electroplates in acid zinc reduction showed decreased corrosion current and hence corrosion rate with reduced porosity in the deposit when ultrasonic agitation instead of a still bath was used. Salt spray tests confirmed similar trends in plating quality. The other advantages of ultrasonic agitation during electroplating include reduced plating time with smoother but harder deposits.
