Description
Summary:An education campaign for our ED physicians and physician assistants encouraged the ordering of physical therapy consults in the ED to assist with disposition of older adults. In addition to making recommendations that affect disposition, it is important that PTs in the ED be broadly trained, ideally with previous acute care experience. In future investigations we hope to quantify the decrease in length of stay for admitted patients when PT sees the patient while still in the ED.Conflict of interest disclosure The authors listed on the title page certify that they have NO affiliations with or involvement in any organization or entity with any financial interest (such as honoraria, educational grants, participation in speakers' bureaus, membership, employment, consultancies, stock ownership or other equity interest and expert testimony or patent-licensing arrangements) or non-financial interest (such as personal or professional relationships, affiliations, knowledge or beliefs) in the subject matter or materials discussed in the manuscript.
