Summary: | A finite strip-element method is presented for the dynamic analysis of orthotropic plate structures. In the strip-element a hierarchical interpolation is used that is a combination of finite element shape functions and trigonometric shape functions. A transformation of variables is used to calculate the strip-element stiffness and mass matrices. This enables continuous plates and plates with point and line supports to be analyzed. Convergence is rapid, with few hierarchical terms being required for engineering accuracy. |
