Introduction of cisternal lavage leads to avoidance of induced hypertension and reduced cardiovascular complications in patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage

•The mean prevalance of CVS declined after implementation of STX-VCS.•The mean daily dose of norepinephrine declined after implementation of stereotactic catheter ventriculostomy.•The reduction of induced hypertension was accompanied by a significant reduction of cardiovascular adverse events.
