Description
Summary:The effects of rolling temperature and testing temperature on the superplastic characteristics of 1N90 pure aluminum fabricated by a P/M method were investigated. The following results were obtained. Hot rolling > 723K has a refining effect to develop a fine grained microstructure in 1N90 pure Al. When it is hot-rolled < 673K it has an elongated and coarse grained microstructure. 1N90 pure Al hot-rolled > 773K exhibits a strain rate sensitivity (m value) of 0.40-0.47 and a total elongation of 200-400% at 913K and at strain rate range of 0.015-0.05 s exp -1 . 1N90 pure Al hot-rolled at 903K and deformed at 893Kapprox913K exhibits a m value of 0.4approx0.47 and a total elongation of approx400% in the strain rate range from 0.01-0.02 s exp -1 , which indicates that the 1N90 pure Al could produce relatively high strain rate superplasticity.
