Summary: | The protective properties of pyrolytic chrome coatings were evaluated for deposition on 45 steel using a Barchos organic chrome liquid with a chrome content of > 16%. Advantages of such deposition process are discussed together with the details of the process. Physical and corrosion-mechanical properties of the pyrolytic chrome coatings, produced in NH sub 3 , are found to be high and therefore these are suitable for protecting components and members of equipment operating in H sub 2 S-containing media. |
