Summary: | A new mathematical model of the plastic deformation zones in the rolling of rheologically complex metals and alloys has been developed on the basis of the finite-element method. The rheological curves are considered through hydrodynamic approximations. The model can be used for the calculation of the formation of knurling during cogging. The appearance of the knurl and the means of its prevention are modelled. The results of the model are in good agreement with experimental findings. |
