Description
Summary:BaTiO3 powders were synthesised by several methods, using mixed citrates as precursors. The compounds were used alone, or dissolved in aqueous or organic solutions, yielding a variety of powder morphologies, including blocks of aggregates, hollow spheres, plate-like agglomerates, porous plates and blocks. The pore size distributions of the green compacts were determined by mercury intrusion, and the sintering was followed by dilatometry. The sintering of the powders was mainly dependent upon the degree of agglomeration, which was controlled by the synthesis method. A powder densification mechanism is proposed. 10 refs.
