Description
Summary:In this spectrometer, optical retardation between the arms of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer made of single-mode optical fibre is modulated by variation of the fibre temperature. Spectra of a multimode laser diode and a broadband light source have been recorded. Frequency shifts within the observed spectra are due to frequency dispersion of the coefficient of dependence of the refractive index on temperature. An oversampling scheme utilizing a phase locked loop circuit has been successfully tested. (Abstract quotes from original text)
