Summary:In view of the higher Tc observed for K-substituted samples, investigations were made on Na-substitution in a Y-Ba-Cu-O system in the hope of obtaining Tc above 150 K. Success was achieved in the preparation of samples with nominal composition Y0.3Ba0.7-xNaxCuO3-y (x less than or equal to 0.2) which showed zero resistance at room temperature and at 230 K. 24 refs.
