Description
Summary:[...]as I became a more seasoned lobbyist, I understood that the process to pass legislation and see policy change come to fruition is much more complex. According to the Annenberg Public Policy Center at the University of Pennsylvania (2021), in 2006, only 33% of respondents could correctly name the three branches of government. Health policy certainly cross cuts many aspects of the core competencies for nursing students and it will continue to be a wise investment in our efforts to create nursing clinicians who are well versed in not only the care they provide, but also the larger drivers that dictate reimbursement, social safety net programs, drug prices, and coverage—only to name a few.
