Synthesis of La0.8Sr0.2CoO3 by sol-gel type reaction modified by poly (vinyl alcohol)
A single-phase polycrystalline La0.8Sr0.2CoO3 with a high surface area at low temperature (greater than 600 C) was successfully synthesised by a sol-gel type route which was modified by using PVA as a gelling agent. The synthesised powder was examined using XRD and the BET method. Pyrolysis of the g...

Summary: | A single-phase polycrystalline La0.8Sr0.2CoO3 with a high surface area at low temperature (greater than 600 C) was successfully synthesised by a sol-gel type route which was modified by using PVA as a gelling agent. The synthesised powder was examined using XRD and the BET method. Pyrolysis of the gel precursor was observed by TGA. It was shown that the synthesised LSCO exhibited a slightly denatured crystal structure and that the extent of the structural shift (cubic-rhombohedral) was dependent on the amount of PVA used for the preparation of gel precursors. 21 refs. |
