Summary: | X-ray diffraction was used to study KF 6100 and ICI GYM43 polypropylene conventionally injection moulded and shear-controlled oriented injection moulded (SCORIM). A newly defined \#g\-phase index is used as a criterion for the characterization of mouldings. It was shown to be associated with pronounced molecular orientation while the \#b\-phase indicated low modulus. SCORIM provided for a good control on the final properties of the mouldings.
