Description
Summary:This paper scrutinizes the effects of near-wall approach methods on the calculated results of complex wall shear flows with flow separation and secondary reversed flow. Two backward facing step flows with different expansion ratios are solved by a k-epsilon-E turbulence model with a one-equation turbulence model near the wall, and by a k-epsilon-E turbulence model with the near-wall boundary conditions specified by wall function, respectively. The computational results are compared with the experimental data, and it is found that the near-wall equation turbulence model performs better than that of the wall function as a near-wall approach method for complex wall shear flows.
