Summary: | IT is not intended that the present article shall be a strictly technical exposition of American surgery. Still less is it purposed to laud American surgery, or to hold it up as something to be imitated by English surgeons. I refer especially to the evident dependence upon antiseptics here, rather than upon that extreme surgical cleanliness or asepsis which the American is accustomed to associate with his art. |
