Summary: | The pounds sterling 95 million project provides a new north-south route to the heart of Newport with links to the M4 and the local road network, taking almost a third of the traffic out of the previously congested Brynglas tunnels. Describes planning, design and construction of the scheme, including 2 crossings of the River Usk, crossing the M4 close to the tunnels, and a new grade-separated junction at a busy intersection in the middle of Newport.
