Description
Summary:With the retrospective approach, a much larger patient population can be studied in a “real life” setting, as the patients and the health care professionals will not have known that they would be part of the study. Furthermore, errors and misses in the individual data sets are typically more frequent than with a conventional prospective study design. Dong and colleagues performed a large retrospective quality assurance assessment of an ERAS protocol for kidney donor nephrectomy, which was implemented during a 9 year period at the UCLA Medical Center [3]. [...]less than 60% of the patients studied received IV ketorolac.
