A new oxide precursor : the synthesis of a bimetallic alkoxy derivative of strontium(II) and tantalum(V)

The preparation and characterisation of a new organometallic precursor for MOCVD of the layered perovskite-type mixed metal oxide, SrBi2Ta2O9, are described. The compound SrTa2(OEt)6(mu-OEt)4(mu-O-bis-dmap)2 was prepared by reacting the mixed metal alkoxide SrTa2(OEt)8(mu-OEt)4 with the N-containing...

Description
Summary:The preparation and characterisation of a new organometallic precursor for MOCVD of the layered perovskite-type mixed metal oxide, SrBi2Ta2O9, are described. The compound SrTa2(OEt)6(mu-OEt)4(mu-O-bis-dmap)2 was prepared by reacting the mixed metal alkoxide SrTa2(OEt)8(mu-OEt)4 with the N-containing ligand 1,3-bis(dimethylamino)propan-2-ol. The new compound was characterised by microanalysis, NMR spectroscopy and XRD, and its molecular structure is shown and described. 14 refs.
