Summary: | A new delaminated beam element is presented for the global analysis of laminated beams containing delaminations. The element is based on a simple kinematic assumption to account for delaminations. The principal advantage of the element is that it allows for modeling of delaminations anywhere in the structure using a single finite element model. In the current work, development of the element is presented and its performance is evaluated for static problems. |
