Summary: | Structures welded from high-temperature nickel alloys serving at enhanced temperatures under the conditions of a complex stress state are susceptible of crack formation in the near-weld zone (NWZ) and in some cases in the weld itself. This is especially typical for alloy EP202, classified in as satisfactorily weldable but susceptible of thermal cracks. The susceptibility of alloy EP202 to crack formation in welding is connected with the high content of titanium, aluminum, and the gamma '-phase, and the presence of boron (Table 1). |
