Summary:Broadband measurements of the complex magnetic susceptibility, χ(ω) = χ′(ω) − iχ′(ω) are reported for a colloidal suspension of Co particles. Resonant and relaxation mechanisms are identified and from polarised measurements a value of magnetic anisotropy constant, K, is determined and compared with that obtained from DC measurements of the remanence at 80 K of solidified colloidal suspensions.
