Plasmon contribution to the Raman spectra of a circular quantum wire

Raman spectra of a circular quantum wire have been calculated in the presence of the electron–phonon coupling treated in the random phase approximation. Description
Summary:Raman spectra of a circular quantum wire have been calculated in the presence of the electron–phonon coupling treated in the random phase approximation. It is predicted that the collective excitations (plasmons) associated with the azimuthal motion of the electrons in the sample would not only shift the position of the Raman line but, split it into two peaks. The current experimental situation is discussed.
