Coupled processes in the MgO - Al2O3 - SiO2 system and oscillating autocatalytic evolution of the phase composition
Mass transfer processes involved in solid-phase reversible chemical reactions in the MgO-Al2O3-SiO2 system were studied, using talc- kaolinite-alumina compositions, characterised using TGA, XRD, polarising microscopy, and four-point bend strength measurements at elevated temperature. The knowledge g...

Summary: | Mass transfer processes involved in solid-phase reversible chemical reactions in the MgO-Al2O3-SiO2 system were studied, using talc- kaolinite-alumina compositions, characterised using TGA, XRD, polarising microscopy, and four-point bend strength measurements at elevated temperature. The knowledge gained of the phase evolution in relation to the material composition and heat treatment cycles facilitated the development of materials of specified properties. 16 refs. |
