Summary: | In this paper are presented the results of a study concerned with the application of electrocontact-discharge machining in the sawing of metals. Electrocontact-discharge sawing (ECDS) was performed with a rotating copper disc as the tool, with a flow of ordinary water as the work fluid and with a d.c. source as the power unit. By sawing steel workpieces, ECDS was characterized technologically from the point of view of the material removal rate, the feed velocity, the tool wear, and the workpieces surface integrity. |
