Description
Summary:The development is described of a computerized plant-specific process assistance system (PAS) by the city of Austin (Texas) Water and Wastewater Utility at the Ullrich water treatment plant to help operators assess treatment process problems and improve their decision-making skills during both routine and non-routine operations so as to meet the utility's stringent internal optimization goals. The system has been developed through observations of operator's actions and treatment decisions for all plant operations and through interviews with operators and is designed as a Web site on the plant's local area network.
