Summary:We report a study of amorphous films of Gd x V 1− x with x < 24 at %. Electrical resistivity shows a wide range of behaviours, from metallic (dρ/d T > 0) to non-metallic (dρ/d T > 0). Only the film with highest concentration and metallic behaviour showed long-range magnetic order below 12 K, the others being paramagnetic. Magnetoresistance measurements in pulsed magnetic fields up to 35 T did not show any saturation.
