Summary: | Measurements of broadband UV radiation on the Tibetan Plateau are presented, and the monthly mean and monthly maximum erythemal UV doses at Lhasa are compared with those at other locations. Using simulations with a discrete ordinate method, the relative contributions of the environmental factors on the Tibetan Plateau, such as the high surface altitude and the lower total ozone column in summer, are estimated. Both the measured broadband and spectral irradiances are then compared with the simulation results. (AIAA) |
