Summary:Visions of the future NDE needs of the U.S. Air Force, Navy and NASA are presented, as driven by their respective missions. These are complemented by a discussion, from the perspective of a commercial airframe manufacturer, of the different roles played by NDE as a new product passes from through the sequence from design, through manufacturing to service, including the different demands and constraints imposed by each of these phases. A summary of audience discussion identifies some issues and needs associated with realizing these visions. (Author)
