Description
Summary:The factors that cause transgranular corrosion cracking of flanges of collectors of PGV-440 steam generators of nuclear power plants made of austenitic 08Kh18N10T steel and studs made of austenitic KhN35VT alloy are investigated. The influence of molybdenum disulfide, which is the main component of lubricants used in the equipment of nuclear power stations, on corrosion cracking of these materials is determined. Transcrystallite cracking of the nonstressed steel and alloy is caused by hydrogen embrittlement and local anodic processes which occur in a medium with high pH, and intergranular corrosion cracking of the alloy is caused only by alkaline cracking.
