Characterization of the metatitanate systems (1-x)BaTiO\+v\3\-v\xNiTiO\+v\3\-v\ and (1-x)BaTiO\+v\3\-v\xZnTiO\+v\3\-v\ obtained by the peroxide method

Two compositions of metatitanates were studied: (1-x)BaTiO(sub3)xNiTiO(sub3) and (1-x)BaTiO(sub3)xZnTiO(sub3) with x = 0.05-0.20 mol and at four sintering temperatures in the range 1100-1300\0\C. The starting metatitanates were obtained by the peroxide method. The dependence of the dielectric consta...

description Two compositions of metatitanates were studied: (1-x)BaTiO(sub3)xNiTiO(sub3) and (1-x)BaTiO(sub3)xZnTiO(sub3) with x = 0.05-0.20 mol and at four sintering temperatures in the range 1100-1300\0\C. The starting metatitanates were obtained by the peroxide method. The dependence of the dielectric constant and the loss tangent on the mole ratio x were investigated. The dependence of both parameters on the sintering temperature was also investigated and opposite behaviour was found in the two components. Due to the depressor character of nickel and zinc titanates a significant smoothing of the dependence of the dielectric constant on the ambient temperature was obtained with respect to the same dependence for pure barium titanate. The compounds 0.80BaTiO(sub3)0.20NiTiO(sub3) sintered at 1300\0\C and 0.80BaTiO(sub3)0.20ZnTiO(sub3) sintered at 1200\0\C were prospective materials for the production of high-frequency capacitors with low losses.
