Summary: | A formalism is presented to experimentally determine the shapes, magnitudes, and relative complex phase of the correlation functions fg and fu which govern the photo-double ionization process in helium. The formalism is applied to a data set from a COLTRIMS measurement of helium double ionization at 99 eV photon energy. With the results of this procedure it is possible to predict all observables of helium photo-double ionization at this energy, with the exception of the direction of the circular dichroism and of the spins.
