Summary:Fibres from polypropylene (PP) and polypropylene/vapour grown nano carbon fibre composite were spun using conventional melt spinning equipment. At 5 wt% nano carbon fibre loading, modulus and compressive strength of PP increased by 50 and 100%, respectively and the nano carbon fibres exhibited good dispersion in the PP matrix as observed by scanning electron microscopy.
