Description
Summary:In this paper the electro-codeposition technique is for the first time applied to prepare HAp/Ni biomedical coatings on stainless steel at low ambient temperature. The phase compositions and microstructures of the fabricated HAp/Ni composite coatings are studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), induction-coupled plasma (ICP), and optical microscopy techniques. The results indicate that nickel is the main phase in the fabricated coatings and HAp particles are incorporated in the nickel matrix. The results also show that the operation conditions, such as the temperature ( T), pH, current density ( D), have remarkable effects on the composition of the fabricated HAp/Ni composite coatings.
