Description
Summary:An approximation for the grand potential Ω( μ, T, V) of a uniform electron gas at finite temperature, based on a partial resummation of the many-body perturbation expansion, has been suggested by Rebei and Hitchon. Their sum of exchange contributions did not contain a T 2 ln T term in a low temperature expansion and seemed to remove unphysical behaviour usually associated with long range bare Coulomb interactions, without invoking correlation and screening effects. We find their conclusions to be incorrect.
