Description
Summary:The problem of the drawing of the steel rods covered with the copper sleeve is investigated in the paper. The theoretical analysis of the process is based on the thermal-mechanical rigid-plastic finite element simulation. Experimental part includes drawing of the bimetal rods prepared by the explosive welding and by the rolling in the oval-vertical oval grooves. The samples after each drawing pass were investigated and the properties of the sleeve and the core were measured. It has been observed that the copper sleeve allows to obtain the reduction of the rod diameter which cannot be achieved in the conventional drawing.
