Description
Summary:The constitutive relations are developed for a damaged composite laminate in which a transversely cracked lamina is nonsymmetrically constrained by neighboring layers. The derivation is based on an approximate elasticity theory approach. The stiffnesses variation in cracked laminates is expressed as a function of the crack density. The stiffness degradation for the cracked laminates with more general layups can be predicted by using these relations.
