Description
Summary:Optical storage in photorefractive crystals, such as LiNbO3, is subject to some of the same problems associated with photographic emulsions. Dynamic range limitations are common to both. In a typical optical Fourier transform arrangement, the lower spatial frequencies contain the highest intensities, and the higher spatial frequencies are much weaker and are subject to being poorly recorded in multiplexed exposures. This investigation explores and models a simple method for distributing the spectra more evenly throughout the storage media by utilizing a phase diffusing screen. (Author)
