Description
Summary:Recently, a study on the growth of calcium phosphate on cotton modified via treatment with urea/phosphorous acid (H sub(3)PO sub(3)) showed that amorphous calcium phosphate material could be stimulated to form on cotton fibers phosphorylated by the urea/phosphorous acid method after soaking in saturated Ca(OH) sub(2) for approximately one week. The purpose of this article is to describe further studies of the calcium phosphate growth on Ca(OH) sub(2)-treated urea/H sub(3)PO sub(3)-and urea/H sub(3)PO sub(4)-modified cotton fibers. Results are discussed in terms of the observations obtained from the techniques used.
