Description
Summary:The deformation analysis of hemispherical-punch stretching was performed using the three-dimensional finite-element program “ROBUST”. The effects of the material properties on strain distribution and histories of the deformation processes were investigated. Using FE-calculation results and forming-limit curves proposed by Stören and Rice, the limiting cup height and rupture location were predicted for mild steel, high-strength steels, austenitic stainless steel and aluminum alloy. The calculated values agree very well with the experimental data. The results can be expected to contribute to predictive evaluation of material performance using computer simulation.
