Description
Summary:It is estimated that in Southern Africa alone there are some 60 million tons of Ferroalloy Slag containing entrained metal valued at about $1 billion. A highly efficient process has been developed to recover the valuable metals from slag in a form that is as far as possible directly salable. Six commercial plants have been built and are now operating, one of which is at Zimasco's ferro-chromium smelting complex in KweKwe, Zimbabwe. This plant is now producing saleable ferrochrome containing less than 2% slag at a recovery of over 96% of liberated metal
