Magnetic properties of liquid quenched R sub 3 Co alloys

The magnetization and ac-susceptibility of liquid quenched R sub 3 Co (R=neodyium, terbium, dysprosium) alloys were determined. The magnetic ordering temperatures T sub c of the alloys were about 30, 84, and 38K, respectively. Their magnetic state below T sub c may be associated with an asperomagnet...

Description
Summary:The magnetization and ac-susceptibility of liquid quenched R sub 3 Co (R=neodyium, terbium, dysprosium) alloys were determined. The magnetic ordering temperatures T sub c of the alloys were about 30, 84, and 38K, respectively. Their magnetic state below T sub c may be associated with an asperomagnetic structure. The alloys showed large hysteresis loops at low temperature. The coercive field (H sub c ) was found to depend on the T sub c value and increases with increasinf T sub c . Large discontinuous magnitization jumps were observed for Tb sub 3 Co in the vicinity of H sub c below 3.5K.
