Effect of planar extension on the structure and mechanical properties of polystyrene-poly(ethylene-co-butylene)-polystyrene triblock copolymers
Two thermoplastic triblock copolymers containing either spherical or cylindrical polystyrene microdomains were pre-oriented through extensional flow. Copolymers with spherical microstructure are body-centred cubic with a [111] orientation along the flow direction, whereas those with cylindrical micr...

Summary: | Two thermoplastic triblock copolymers containing either spherical or cylindrical polystyrene microdomains were pre-oriented through extensional flow. Copolymers with spherical microstructure are body-centred cubic with a [111] orientation along the flow direction, whereas those with cylindrical microstructure have the cylinder axis aligned along the extensional flow direction. Young's moduli are highly anisotropic. (Original abstract - amended) |
